House Fire In Fallston Under Investigation
Hess Road was temporarily closed Sunday night so firefighters could tend to a burning residence.

FALLSTON, MD — The Red Cross is assisting residents of a home on Hess Road where fire broke out Sunday night, according to the Office of the State Fire Marshal. Nobody was injured in the blaze, which officials said caused thousands of dollars in damage and took about 30 minutes to bring under control.
At 10:17 p.m., authorities said a neighbor reported the fire in the 2600 block of Hess Road.
Firefighters from Fallston and surrounding companies arrived and found nobody inside during a search of the two-story single-family home.

The fire was placed under control at 10:50 p..m., according to Jenn Chenworth, spokeswoman for the Harford County Volunteer Fire and EMS Association. She said firefighters remained in the area for overhaul.
During the firefighting operations, Hess Road was shut down, according to the Fallston Volunteer Fire and Ambulance Company.

What caused the fire and where it started remained under investigation Monday morning, the fire marshal reported. Officials said there was $5,000 in structural damage to the home.
