One School Closed in Harford County on Wednesday
Joppatowne Elementary will not open, Harford County Public Schools officials report.
Due to mechanical issues, Joppatowne Elementary School will be closed on Wednesday, Feb. 18, according to Harford County Public Schools officials.
Staff should still report at their regularly schedules time, officials said.
The following are canceled at Joppatowne Elementary School on Wednesday:

- Evening activities
Schools in Anne Arundel and Prince George’s counties as well as Baltimore City are opening with a two-hour delay on Wednesday.

People should give themselves additional time and use extra caution on their Wednesday commute, according to the Maryland Transportation Authority.
“Icy spots [are] still possible, especially on untreated surfaces,” the authority reported Wednesday morning.
Weather Alert
A winter weather advisory is in effect for Harford County and much of Maryland from 2 to 9 p.m. calling for snow squalls after 3 p.m. and 1 to 2 inches of snow, according to the National Weather Service.
