Susan Elizabeth Schley, 56

Susan Elizabeth Schley (nee Zeller) passed away on June 3. She was 56.

She is survived by husband Michael Francis Schley Sr.; daughter Jessica Crowley and her husband Steven; stepson Michael Francis Schley Jr.; two sisters and three brothers: Stephanie McDermott and her husband Bernie, Patricia Poe and her husband Ron, Matthew Zeller and his wife Lori, Richard Zeller and his wife Susie, and Robert Zeller and his wife Michele; grandchildren Carson, Daphne and Chase; and many relatives and friends, according to her obituary.

She was a nurse at Good Samaritan Hospital, and relatives reportedly grew concerned when she did not show up for her shift the morning of Monday, June 3.

The Harford County Sheriff's Office asked the public later that day to help find Schley, who was missing and had last been seen Sunday morning. Authorities said that she was found in a wooded area Monday afternoon in Fallston, and they did not suspect any foul play in the case.

"Sue was an outstanding nurse, meticulous, kind and thoughtful," one person wrote in the online memory book established for Schley. "We all know Sue made the world a better place, a real gem."

Visitation will be from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. on Friday, June 7, at the Schimunek Funeral Home, 9705 Belair Road, Nottingham, MD 21236.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Saint John the Evangelist Catholic Church at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, June 8. A private cremation will follow.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Susan Schley's name may go to the American Lung Association, 211 E. Lombard St., Baltimore, MD 21202.
