Arts Barn To Close For Construction Through End Of September
Gaithersburg's performing and visual arts center will soon be closed for repairs, according to city officials.

GAITHERSBURG, MD — The Arts Barn — Gaithersburg's performing and visual arts center — will be closed for repairs starting Aug. 5, city officials said. The closure is expected to last until Sept. 20.
"In accordance with the City of Gaithersburg's no-debt policy, funds have been set aside in a Capital Improvement Project fund over the past several years to conduct exterior brick repointing, to replace the roof, and to replace the building's HVAC system," officials said in a statement. "The new system is designed to be more efficient and more quiet, an important aspect for a performing arts venue."
An additional closure, they add, will be necessary in the fall for final work on the HVAC system. It's expected to last a few days.
