Corona Montgomery Channel To Broadcast Virus Info From Officials
Local cable operators launch Corona Montgomery, a new TV program that broadcasts the latest COVID-19 information from local officials.
GAITHERSBURG, MD — Montgomery County residents can now find the latest COVID-19 information on a new TV channel called Corona Montgomery.
The county's Public, Education and Government (PEG) channels combined resources to launch the channel, which broadcasts critical coronavirus-related information from multiple county agencies and municipalities.
The programming is available on channel 10 on Comcast, Verizon, and RCN.

"Residents are spending more time than ever before watching television because of the stay-at-home order," said Council President Sidney Katz. "Corona Montgomery is a terrific way for community members to get information that directly impacts their lives during this uncertain time."
In addition to watching Corona Montgomery, residents can find resources on Coronamontgomery.info. The website showcases a live feed of the Corona Montgomery channel and offers various segments in other languages.

"This type of collaboration among our local cable operators should serve as a model for disseminating essential information about county government resources and community services during this pandemic and beyond," said Councilmember Nancy Navarro, who chairs of the Government Operations and Fiscal Policy Committee.
