Rail Malfunction Causes Delays On Red Line

SILVER SPRING, MD — Customers traveling between Silver Spring and Takoma Park should expect delays in both directions, according to Metro officials.

Trains were single-tracking between the two Red Line stations following a problem with the electrified third rail. Initially, Montgomery County fire officials were called to the Silver Spring station, located at 8400 Colesville Rd., to investigate a fire. There is no fire emergency.
