Flash Flood Watch Issued For Parts Of Montgomery County
Two to 4 inches of rain could fall in the next 24 hours, according to forecasters, leading to localized flash flooding.
GAITHERSBURG, MD — As rain rolls through the region, meteorologists caution that flash flooding is possible. The National Weather Service issued a flash flood watch for parts of Montgomery County Wednesday morning.
The alert takes effect late Wednesday evening and lasts through Thursday morning. Other parts of central Maryland, Washington, D.C., and Northern Virginia are also affected.
Forecasters predict that several rounds of rain will pass through the region over the next 24 hours. The wave started Wednesday morning. A lull is expected in the afternoon.

Wednesday night will see moderate to heavy rainfall, the National Weather Service predicts. A few smaller thunderstorms may also join the mix.

The areas most at risk for flash flooding include: Gaithersburg, Rockville, Silver Spring, Bowie, Clinton, College Park, Greenbelt, Laurel, Glen Burnie, Severna Park, Odenton, Annapolis, and Centreville.
