Food Composting Talk Introduces Pilot Program
A Food Composting Pilot Talk presented by The Compost Crew will be held on July 20, from 7 to 8 p.m.

From the City of Gaithersburg: The City of Gaithersburg Environmental Affairs Committee, in partnership with the Kentlands Foundation Go Green Group, will host a Food Composting Pilot Talk presented by The Compost Crew on Thursday, July 20, 2017, from 7 to 8 p.m. at the Kentlands Clubhouse, 485 Tschiffely Square Road.
The initial pilot program would introduce simple, clean, convenient, and low-cost food composting to the Kentlands, Lakelands, Woods at Muddy Branch, Westleigh, Washingtonian Woods, Amberfield, Lakelands Ridge, Quince Orchard Park, Bridlewood, Orchard Glen, The Orchards, Fernshire Farms, Longdraft Estates, Mission Hills, and Warther communities. If the pilot is successful, the program may open service to the entire City so all Gaithersburg communities are welcome to attend.
The Compost Crew will provide collection bins and liners and weekly pickup services. The cost is $35 per home for two months of weekly compostable collection service. The program requires 50 participating homes to launch. A long-term community discount is available when more households register.
