Free Trips For Essential Workers, $1 For Essential Travel In MoCo

GAITHERSBURG, MD — Hospital staff, grocery store employees, and other essential workers can get unlimited free bike and e-scooter rides during the coronavirus pandemic.

The Montgomery County Department of Transportation and its partners at Capital Bikeshare and Lyft Electric Scooters are offering essential workers free rides for trips under 30 minutes through May 31, according to county officials.

Employees or employers must email HeroBikes@Lyft.com before May 31 to get a free, 30-day membership. Free rides will be available immediately upon enrollment, county officials say.
