Freeze Warning Issued For Montgomery County
Temperatures are expected to dip below freezing in Montgomery County, prompting an alert from the National Weather Service.
GAITHERSBURG, MD — Freezing temperatures have prompted the National Weather Service to issue a Freeze Warning for Montgomery County. The temperature may dip to 30 degrees.
The Freeze Warning is effective from to 2 to 8 a.m. Wednesday, April 22.
Montgomery County officials have also issued a Hypothermia Alert for the region. The county issues a Hypothermia Alert when temperatures drop below 32 degrees, making it more likely for people to get hypothermia and frostbite.

Officials said they are particularly concerned for children, seniors, homeless individuals, and animals.

- Tuesday afternoon: Showers likely before 5 p.m. Sunny, with a steady temperature around 57. Windy, with a west wind around 29 mph, with gusts as high as 37 mph. Chance of precipitation is 70%. New precipitation amounts of less than a tenth of an inch possible.
- Tuesday night: Mostly clear, with a low around 31. Northwest wind 10 to 17 mph, with gusts as high as 24 mph.
- Wednesday morning/afternoon: Sunny, with a high near 57. West wind 11 to 15 mph, with gusts as high as 22 mph.
