Gaithersburg Among Most Diverse Cities In America: WalletHub
WalletHub says Gaithersburg is one of the most diverse cities in the United States. Here's how well it ranked.
GAITHERSBURG, MD — Gaithersburg is one of the most culturally diverse cities in the United States, according to a new report from personal finance website WalletHub.
The organization compared 501 of the most populated U.S. cities across five metrics: socioeconomic diversity; cultural diversity; economic diversity; household diversity; and religious diversity. Each metric was graded on a 100-point scale — with 100 representing the most diversity. The city's weighted average across all metrics was then used to calculate its overall score.
Topping the list is Houston, Texas (71.87 points), followed by Jersey City, New Jersey (71.70 points), New York, New York (71.59 points), and Dallas, Texas (71.52 points).

A previous ranking from February 2021 listed Gaithersburg as the most diverse small city and the second most diverse city overall based on ethnoracial, linguistic, and birthplace diversity.
"It seems that no matter what data points are used to measure diversity, Gaithersburg is consistently at or near the top of these lists," said Gaithersburg Mayor Jud Ashman. "That's a source of pride for us, and reminds us how remarkable, vibrant, and inclusive we are, and must continue to be, so that everyone feels welcome in our community."
