Gaithersburg Arts On the Green Presents Spring Awakening
Spring Awakening depicts a dozen young people making their way through the thrilling, complicated and mysterious time of sexual awakening.

From The City of Gaithersburg: In partnership with Wildwood Summer Theatre, Arts on the Green presents Spring Awakening, with book and lyrics by Steven Sater and music by Duncan Sheik. The show runs August 4 through 12, 2017, with performances on Fridays and Saturdays at 8 p.m. and Sundays at 2 p.m. and additional performances on August 5 and 12 at 2 p.m. and August 10 at 8 p.m. The Arts Barn is located at 311 Kent Square Road. Admission is $22, $18 for ages 15 to 22 with student ID. This show is recommended for ages 15 and older due to mature themes.
Based on Frank Wedekind's play of the same name, Spring Awakening depicts a dozen young people making their way through the thrilling, complicated and mysterious time of sexual awakening.
Wildwood Summer Theatre (WST) is a community musical theatre company founded in 1965 by a group of students from Walter Johnson High School. For the last 52 years, WST has presented at least one, and occasionally two, musical productions, with the entire company aged 14 to 25.

This year marks the 15th theater season at the Arts Barn. In May 2002, the Arts Barn opened to the public with its first stage performance, a one-woman comedy titled “A Fresh of Breath Air” written by and starring Dale Stein. Since then, more than 180 theater productions ranging from comedy to drama to musicals have graced the Arts Barn stage.
