Gaithersburg Chorus Seeks New Members, Classes Start Jan. 5

The Gaithersburg Chorus is looking for new members to sing soprano, alto, tenor, or bass/baritone in the non-audition ensemble class.

GAITHERSBURG, MD — Like to sing?

The Gaithersburg Chorus is looking for new members to sing soprano, alto, tenor, or bass/baritone in the non-audition ensemble class. Spots are reserved for those 16 years and older. No previous experience is required.

Due to COVID-19, the spring session will be held exclusively online and culminate in up to four videos airing as a virtual concert on Saturday, May 22 at 7 p.m. Online classes begin Tuesday, Jan. 5.

"Director Daniel Hopkins and Accompanist Refiye Tappan provide weekly instruction on music theory, musicality, and the mechanics of singing, including vocalization, voice control, proper breathing technique, and voice projection," a press release stated. "The Chorus performs a variety of music, from classical to pop to Broadway and everything in between."

Rehearsals will be held online Tuesdays from 7:30 to 9:30 p.m. The registration fee is $50. Click here to register online.
