Gaithersburg to Host Winter Lights Festival
The 3.5 mile drive through the enchanted woodland setting of Seneca Creek State Park takes you past more than 450 illuminated displays.

GAITHERSBURG, MD — The City of Gaithersburg Winter Lights Festival welcomes visitors for its 21st spectacular season. The wondrous display of lights at Seneca Creek State Park will be open nightly November 25 through December 31, Sunday through Thursday from 6 to 9 p.m., and Friday and Saturday from 6 to 10 p.m. Please note that the festival will be closed on December 25. The park is located at 11950 Clopper Road, just a few miles west of the intersection with I-270. Admission at the gate is $12 per car Monday through Thursday and $15 per car Fridaythrough Sunday, payable by cash or credit card.

Making its debut this year is a new frog prince display, nestled amongst traditional festival favorites that include a Fantasy Castle and magical unicorn fountain, Winter Woods, Teddy Bear Land, Victorian Village, and the North Pole.
Bring your four-legged friends and the whole family out for an invigorating 1 or 3-mile walk at Leashes ‘n’ Lights on Tuesday, November 22 from 6 to 9 p.m. Please note that the S’more Lights event scheduled on Friday, November 18 and the Wine Under the Lights event scheduled for Sunday, November 20 have already sold out. In the spirit of the holidays, proceeds from the 2016 festival will benefit local nonprofit organizations, including Baby’s Bounty, Rebuilding Together Montgomery County, Kentlands Community Foundation, Girls on the Run of Montgomery County, and Women Who Care Ministries.
