Gaithersburg Memorial Day Observance Set For Concert Pavilion

City of Gaithersburg will host its annual Veterans Day Observance, 11 a.m. Monday at the City Hall Concert Pavilion, 31 S. Summit Ave.

Lt. Col. Lee Miller will deliver the day’s remarks.

Miller graduated from West Point in 1958 and served in Artillery/Infantry command with two tours in Vietnam and two in Germany. He is one of the founders of the West Point Wounded Warrior Mentoring Program, an all-volunteer nonprofit charitable organization that helps wounded service members and their spouses.

Officials, veterans and community organizations will also participate in a solemn wreath laying ceremony, followed by a reception inside City Hall.

During the observance, the city will collect items to send as part of the Adopt-A-Unit program. A full list of specific items needed can be found at the city’s website.
