Gaithersburg Names City Planner Employee Of Second Quarter

Chris Berger is now among candidates to be considered for the annual Employee and Team of the Year Award.

GAITHERSBURG, MD — Gaithersburg planner Chris Berger was recognized at Tuesday's city council meeting when he was named Employee of the Quarter, an award that honors hard-working individuals and teams.

Comprised of peers from each department, Gaithersburg’s Employee Recognition Committee reviews nominations for workers, both individuals and teams, each quarter and chooses one winner. Those winners are then eligible for the annual Employee and Team of the Year Awards.

Planner Chris Berger was named Employee of the Quarter for his exemplary work in researching, planning and coordinating the 2018 Historic Element of the City’s Master Plan, the city said in a Wednesday press release.

The Historic Element details existing and potential historic properties and outlines policies and programs to further historic preservation initiatives. The project involved exhaustive research on the economic benefits of historic preservation.

Chris was lauded for maintaining a high level of productivity with his other duties while enthusiastically embracing this special project.
