Gaithersburg Water Park Opens for Season on May 27
City residents and members can enjoy the water park an hour earlier on weekends and holidays before it opens to the public.

From the City of Gaithersburg: Splash into summer at the Gaithersburg Water Park at Bohrer Park. The season begins at noon on Saturday, May 27 and continues through Labor Day. City residents and members can enjoy the Water Park one hour earlier on weekends and holidays before the park opens to the public. Hours are limited during pre- and post-season, May 27 through June 16 and August 26 through September 4. Note that the Water Park will be open to residents and members only during the City’s SummerFest celebration and fireworks display, taking place at Bohrer Park on Saturday, July 1. The Water Park is located near the Skate Park, Miniature Golf Course and Activity Center at 512 South Frederick Avenue, next to Gaithersburg High School.
The Water Park’s resort-style main pool features palm trees, multiple water slides, a variety of play features, and a zero-depth entry, making it accessible to all. The main attraction is the 250-foot long double-flume slide, where swimmers can choose between a fast or mellow ride down a 38-foot tower. A splash pool for little ones includes open and closed flume slides, play features, fountains, and sprays.
The Water Park also has a carpeted sun deck, grassy areas with picnic tables, plenty of shaded areas, locker rooms, vending machines, and a snack bar plaza operated by Boardwalk Fries. Swim lessons and water exercise programs are available. Picnic pavilions can be rented on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays and may be reserved in advance for an additional fee, with City residents being given first opportunity.
The Water Park is a smoke free facility. Liquids brought in from the outside are prohibited. Empty plastic bottles, unopened cans and juice pouches are allowed. There is no re-entry with the exception of members and those with wristbands who are part of the pavilion rentals and putt-n-pool programs at the adjacent miniature golf course.
The modified pre-season schedule is in effect through June 16. The full summer season begins June 17, with weekday hours of 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.and weekend hours of noon to 7 p.m. City residents and members have exclusive access to the Water Park starting at 11 a.m. on weekends and holidays.
