Gaithersburg Weather: 3 More Chances For Snow Before Monday

More snow may be heading to Gaithersburg. Check out how much the National Weather Service is projecting.

GAITHERSBURG, MD — Looks like Gaithersburg may get more snow in the coming days.

It all starts with a cold front moving in to our region on Wednesday, forecasters say. Wednesday evening will be partly cloudy, with a low around 38 degrees.

According to The National Weather Service, Thursday will be mostly cloudy, with a high near 33 degrees. The chance of snow is 40 percent in the afternoon and 90 percent in the evening. Snow and sleet accumulation of one to two inches is possible, forecasters say.

During the day on Friday, temperatures are expected to rise. It'll be cloudy, then gradually become mostly sunny, with a high in the mid-40s. Temperatures will drop to around 28 degrees in the evening, according to The National Weather Service.

Arctic high pressure from the north will come through the Mid-Atlantic on Saturday. There is a slight chance of rain and snow before 1 p.m. Rain will be likely, thereafter. Daytime temperatures will hover around 39 degrees. According to forecasters, the chance of rain is 70 percent in the day and 100 percent in the night. Nighttime temperatures will be in the mid-30s.

The rain will likely stick around on Sunday. Forecasters say precipitation is likely before 2 p.m. The rain will probably turn into rain/snow. The forecast calls for cloudy skies with a high near 44 degrees. Sunday night will be especially frigid: temperatures will dip to around 11 degrees.
