Gaithersburg's 4th Of July Celebration Canceled

Gaithersburg's Fourth of July events may be canceled, but there are several other ways you can celebrate the holiday safely.

GAITHERSBURG, MD — Fourth of July events across the country will not look the same this year, thanks to the coronavirus. Many cities and towns have been forced to cancel their annual Independence Day events, including Gaithersburg.

The canceled festivities in Gaithersburg has been replaced by a week-long virtual celebration called #StayHomeSummerFest. From June 29 to July 4, families can visit the city's social media accounts, where they will find arts and crafts, cooking demonstrations, theater performances, and a video montage of past fireworks displays.
