Maryland Municipal League Celebrates 10th Anniversary
Fifty nine communities were recognized at the 2017 Banner Cities & Towns in Ocean City.

From MD Municipal: At the Maryland Municipal League (MML) annual conference in Ocean City in June, 59 communities were officially recognized as 2017 Banner Cities & Towns. The program is celebrating its 10th anniversary.
MML gave special recognition to five municipalities that have earned Banner Cities and Towns designation every year since the program’s inception. These include Gaithersburg, Greenbelt, Laurel, Leonardtown, and Somerset.
The program was created to recognize civic engagement. Communities qualify for the designation by conducting outreach and education programs about municipal government with local school children, actively participating on MML committees, chapters, departments and on the Board of Directors, and attending training and networking events to share best practices and further the mission of local government.
