MONTGOMERY COUNTY, MD — Fall may be somewhat close in Montgomery County -- but this week's weather will remind you that we are still solidly in the summer months.
The week will start off stormy before giving way to more 90+ degree days in our area.
It starts Monday with a muggy morning leading to afternoon and evening showers and storms. Highs will top out in the high 80s, and lows could drop into the 60s.

Tuesday should be partly sunny with more chances of showers and storms. Highs will be in the 80s once again.
By Wednesday, things will dry out, and highs will start moving upward. Thursday will be mostly sunny with a high in the low 90s. And by Friday, a chance of showers returns.

The Washington Post's Capital Weather Gang says there's a chance those showers could linger into the weekend, but right now the National Weather Service indicates in their forecast that all they expect during the weekend is partly sunny skies with highs in the high 80s.

Monday: A slight chance of showers, then showers likely and possibly a thunderstorm after 11am. Some of the storms could produce heavy rain. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 83. North wind around 5 mph. Chance of precipitation is 70%. New rainfall amounts between a quarter and half of an inch possible.
Monday Night: Showers likely and possibly a thunderstorm before 2am. Some of the storms could produce heavy rain. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 68. West wind 3 to 6 mph. Chance of precipitation is 60%. New rainfall amounts between a quarter and half of an inch possible.
Tuesday: A slight chance of showers between 8am and 2pm, then a chance of showers and thunderstorms after 2pm. Some of the storms could produce heavy rain. Partly sunny, with a high near 85. West wind 6 to 9 mph. Chance of precipitation is 40%.
Tuesday Night: A chance of showers and thunderstorms before 8pm, then a slight chance of showers between 8pm and 2am. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 69. West wind 5 to 7 mph. Chance of precipitation is 30%.
Wednesday: Sunny, with a high near 90. West wind around 7 mph.
Wednesday Night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 72.
Thursday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 92.
Thursday Night: Mostly cloudy, with a low around 74.
Friday: A chance of showers, with thunderstorms also possible after noon. Partly sunny, with a high near 92. Chance of precipitation is 50%.
Friday Night: A chance of showers, with thunderstorms also possible after midnight. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 72. Chance of precipitation is 30%.
Saturday: Partly sunny, with a high near 87.
Saturday Night: Mostly cloudy, with a low around 70.
