New Hotel Opens on North Frederick Avenue

A 125-room Hampton Inn & Suites opened this week in Gaithersburg, Hampton Hotels announced in a news release.

Located at 960 North Frederick Avenue, the hotel is the second Hampton hotel in Gaithersburg. 

The property is on track to achieve Gold Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) certification post-opening, according to the news release. LEED is a rating system used by the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC) and certified projects receive level-based certification from Certified, Silver, Gold or Platinum depending on sustainable site, water efficiency, energy and atmosphere, materials and resources and indoor environmental quality.

"At the Hampton Inn & Suites Gaithersburg, sustainability and eco-awareness are a top priority," Barbara Reed, general manager of the hotel, said in a statement. "Not only will our sustainability initiatives make a significant impact on reducing CO2 emissions, waste output and energy consumption, but we also believe our guests and local partners will find great value in our environmental efforts."
