New Playgrounds Coming To Two Gaithersburg Parks

Out with the old and in with the new: two Gaithersburg playgrounds are getting an upgrade.

GAITHERSBURG, MD — Kids rejoice: new playgrounds are coming to two parks in Gaithersburg.

The equipment will be installed at Travis Park on Travis Avenue and Diamond Farms Park on Quince Orchard Boulevard in October. Crews will be installing plaster border timbers, drainage, landscape fabric, and gravel bases.

Both playgrounds will be closed during construction, according to city officials.

The Travis Park playground will close Sept. 8, and is expected to reopen in mid-October. The Diamond Farms Park playground will close Sept. 14, and is expected to reopen in late October.

The new playground at Travis Park is intended for ages 2 – 12, while the equipment at Diamond Farms Park is designed for those ages 2 – 5. Updates will be posted on the city's Project Page.
