GAITHERSBURG, MD — One of the biggest names in swimming will be joining Councilmember Will Jawando on Wednesday for virtual story time: Katie Ledecky.

The five-time Olympic gold medalist swimmer will read to children over live stream at 11:30 a.m. Families can tune in here and here.

"Katie Ledecky is a hometown hero who grew up in Montgomery County, in Bethesda, and has gone on to become one of the most successful and admired swimmers of all time," said Jawando, who serves on the Council's Education and Culture Committee. "I am very happy to have her joining my daily virtual story time, where she'll help inspire a love of reading, imagination and creativity in the young people of Montgomery County and the D.C. region."
