Police Call for a Man with a Gun Ends Peacefully in Gaithersburg
Police: The man was threatening to hurt himself.

A call for a suicidal man in Gaithersburg ended peacefully Saturday after police were able to convince the man to exit his home, a Montgomery County police dispatcher said.
Police responded to the 19000 block of Tygart Lane around 3 p.m. to check on the welfare of a man who was believed to be in possession of a gun and making suicidal statements, the dispatcher said.

After police made contact with the man, he came out of his home voluntarily and without incident, the dispatcher said.
At the time of publishing, officers had not confirmed that the man was in possession of a firearm.
