Police Seek Man Who Vandalized Cop Car In Gaithersburg

Police are searching for a man who used a rock to break the front windshield of a Montgomery County police cruiser.

GAITHERSBURG, MD — Police are searching for a man who vandalized a police cruiser in Gaithersburg Wednesday afternoon.

Police received a call at 3 p.m. from someone who reported that they were video recording a suspect standing on the hood of an unoccupied Montgomery County Police vehicle.

The suspect used a rock to break the front windshield of the patrol vehicle, police said. He also removed the rear-view mirror from the interior of the car and put it on the roof of the vehicle before fleeing.

Anyone with information regarding this vandalism and/or the suspect is asked to call police at 240-773-5770. Those who wish to remain anonymous may call Crime Solvers of Montgomery County toll-free at 1-866-411-TIPS (8477). Crime Solvers will pay a cash reward of up to $10,000 for information provided to them that leads to an arrest in this case.
