Pro Lacrosse Players Launch Ball Over Inner Harbor: VIDEO

Paul Rabil, who grew up in Gaithersburg, released video of pickup game that went viral.

With the professional lacrosse season around the corner, two athletes challenged themselves to an unusual exercise at Baltimore’s Inner Harbor.

Paul Rabil of the New York Lizards launched a lacrosse ball over the Inner Harbor to his pal Drew Westervelt, an attacker for the Colorado Mammoth.

Their game of catch—captured on GoPro—went viral after Rabil, named the 2014 world’s best midfielder by the Federation of International Lacrosse, broadcast the event on his YouTube channel.

The video was picked up by ESPN, USA Today, Bro Bible, VICE, The Baltimore Sun, Lacrosse All Stars and other outlets.

Both Rabil and Westervelt began their lacrosse careers on the outskirts of Baltimore.

Rabil, a Johns Hopkins grad, grew up in Gaithersburg and played for DaMatha Catholic High School. Westervelt is a UMBC alum and Bel Air native whose high school team was John Carroll.
