QOHS Senior Selected as Montgomery's Only BofA Student Leader
Anya Sesay Chosen To Participate in Bank of America's Nationwide Summer Program To Enhance Her Demonstrated Leadership Skills

Each summer, a select group of approximately 300 high school seniors and juniors takes part in the Bank of America Student Leaders® program, in which community-minded participants from across the United States receive leadership training and assist non-profit organizations in their home communities.
This year, the only Montgomery County student picked for the paid internship program is Quince Orchard High School senior Anya Sesay.
Sesay earned her spot due to her penchant for volunteerism and her acumen with the written word. She's the founder and co-president of the Quince Orchard Freedom Writers, which combines creativity with activism to give students a voice in bringing positive change to their community.

In addition, Sesay is a columnist for the student newspaper, writing about issues from the perspective of students of color, and is a staff writer for the humanitarian non-profit The 2AM Post.
The Bank of America Student Leaders® program lasts all summer and culminates in a week-long leadership summit, normally held in Washington, D.C. The 2020 summit was held virtually due to COVID-19 restrictions. The format for the 2021 summit is to be determined.
