Running A Business During Phase 2 Is Topic Of Friday's Briefing
Montgomery Co. residents affected by the pandemic can join Council President Sidney Katz's business briefing on July 10. Here's how to RSVP.
GAITHERSBURG, MD — Montgomery County Council President Sidney Katz is hosting a business briefing on Zoom for residents affected by the coronavirus pandemic.
The virtual meeting — set to take place on Friday at 12:30 p.m — will feature Omar Lazo, owner of Los Chorros restaurant in Wheaton, and Trish Schechtman, special events operator for Tusculum Farm in Laytonsville.
The guests will discuss how local businesses are navigating the county's reopening plan, which is currently in phase two. Residents and businesses can find more information and guidelines on the Reopening Montgomery website.

"Partnering with our local business community is more important now than it has ever been, as we face down the economic challenges presented by the COVID-19 crisis," said Katz. "As a former small business owner, I know how integral local businesses are and will continue to be to Montgomery County's economy."
Residents can submit their questions for Katz and other participants by e-mailing Councilmember.Katz@MontgomeryCountyMD.gov. They'll also have the chance to submit questions in the Zoom chat during the Q&A portion of the briefing.
