Stepdad Tears Up When When He Opens Heartwarming Gift: WATCH

A Gaithersburg woman saved all the notes her stepdad gave her in middle school and turned them into a heartwarming Father's Day gift.

GAITHERSBURG, MD — Every day while Sophia Wilcox was in middle school, stepfather Brian Sandusky would leave inspiring post-it notes on her bedroom door.

The former Quince Orchard student — who is now in college — saved them all. Six years later, she framed the notes and gave them back to Sandusky for Father's Day.

"During middle school, my stepdad used to leave me a note on my door each day to inspire me. Well, I kept those notes & It's been 6 years since then. Today I gave him those notes back," Wilcox wrote on Twitter.

The heartwarming gift left Sandusky in tears.

"Oh my god, I was not expecting that at all," Wilcox told Montgomery Community Media. "I knew he would cry. We kept telling him for days, 'you're gonna cry.' But he had no idea what it was, and he kind of brushed it off. He was like, 'whatever, you and your mom keep hyping it up and it's not gonna be this big.' And then he opened it and I was, myself, in shock."
