Stolen Credit Cards Used To Buy $1.5K In Gift Cards: Police

Police are searching for a woman who allegedly used stolen credit cards to purchase gift cards at a Gaithersburg Target.

GAITHERSBURG, MD — Police are searching for a woman who allegedly used stolen credit cards to purchase Visa gift cards worth over $1,000 at a Gaithersburg Target.

Police said a woman was contacted by her bank to tell her someone bought gift cards for $1,500 on Thursday, Aug. 16.

The victim checked her wallet and discovered her credit cards were missing, police said.

Investigators determined the victim was last in possession of her credit cards at about 6:25 p.m. that evening. She used one of the cards at a store near the Target, located at 25 Grand Corner Ave., police said.

Detectives are still working to determine where the theft of credit cards occurred.

Police believe the suspect who used the stolen credit cards at Target is in the photo above.

Anyone with information about this suspect is asked to call the 6th District Patrol Investigations Unit at 240-773-5789 or call Crime Solvers of Montgomery County toll-free at 1-866-411-TIPS (8477). Crime Solvers will pay a cash reward of up to $10,000 for information provided to them that leads to the arrest and/or indictment of this suspect. Tipsters will remain anonymous.
