'Thursday Evenings in Olde Towne' Concert Series Kicks Off June 1

This summer's lineup for the free concert series is here!

From the City of Gaithersburg: End the day on a musical note with Thursday Evenings in Olde Towne, a free concert series taking place at the City Hall Concert Pavilion on Thursdays in June, July and September. All concerts begin at 6 p.m.

Wind down the workday with great music in a casual, outdoor setting. Grab some local carryout to enjoy during the concert, or enjoy the music before dining in Olde Towne afterwards. Visit the Fulks Corner Farmers Market, open from 12:30 to 6 p.m., just two blocks away for fresh produce and more right before the performance. Bring a blanket or low-back chair for lawn seating.

June 1 - Bryan Elijah Smith - Americana

Smith's genuine songwriting and voice go hand in hand with The Wild Hearts’ raw energy. His compositions and aesthetic as a producer create a unique amalgam of Americana peppered with mainstream sensibilities crossing a wide array of genres.

June 8 - Fast Eddie & the Slowpokes - Blues

Fast Eddie & The Slowpokes are guaranteed to get you up on your feet. Their blend of Chicago, West Coast, Swing and Jump Blues peppered with Soul serve up a menu to get the joint jumpin’.

June 15 - A Thousand Rainy Days – Police Tribute Band

Enjoy Police and Sting covers with A Thousand Rainy Days.

June 22 - Scorpion Rose – Country/Rock

Scorpion Rose is a high-energy, four-piece, rock band. They cover a wide genre of music including alternative, rock, country, and current pop hits.

June 29 - Hayley Fahey Band – Singer-Songwriter

Hayley is a prolific singer-songwriter and a multi-instrumentalist who draws influence from country, blues and folk, infusing storytelling and appealing to emotion.

July 6 - Ruthie & the Wranglers - Country

Ruthie & the Wranglers play rockin' American Roots music. From original Americana Country to rousing Surf instrumentals, their clever lyrics, high energy and spritely hillbilly harmonies set them apart from the rest.

July 13 - The Sidleys – Indie Rock

Annie and Steve Sidley have created a unique, yet universal sound that has been described as high-energy, melodic, soul-influenced indie rock.

July 20 - The Fringe Benefits – Pop

The Fringe Benefits is a five-piece cover band that performs popular songs including Motown, Classic Rock, 80s, 90s, and current hits. Not just music, but interactive and engaging entertainment.

July 27 - East of Monroe - Bluegrass

East of Monroe is an Americana/bluegrass group whose music is mostly original tunes along with tasteful covers of diverse songs.

September 7 – Diamond Alley – Pop/Rock

Diamond Alley is a five-piece dance/rock and variety band performing an exciting and diverse mix of contemporary and classic hits as well as the band’s own popular original tunes.

September 14 – Vintage #18 - Jazz

Vintage #18 is a dynamic soul and blues band that delivers hard-driving blues rhythms and soul grooves you can move to.

September 21 - The Rhodes Tavern Troubadours – Roots Rock

The Rhodes Tavern Troubadours is an award-winning rock and roll band from Washington, DC.

September 28 - Ball in the House – Pop/Rock A Cappella

Ball in the House follows in the path of classic harmony groups like Boyz II Men while incorporating the pop and neo-soul influence of artists like Bruno Mars.

Enjoy outdoor entertainment and activities all summer long at the Concert Pavilion. Heat up your exercise routine as you dance to the Latin rhythms of Zumba on Friday evenings through August 25 (no class May 19). Experience uplifting Gospel music at the 11th Annual Jubilation Day Gospel Extravaganza on June 3. Develop your mind, body and spirit at Yoga in the Park on Tuesday evenings through August (no class July 4). Thursday Morning Kids Concerts delight parents and children alike June 1 through July 27.
