What's Open, Closed On Fourth of July In Gaithersburg

July 4th recycling will be picked up the preceding Saturday.

From the City of Gaithersburg: In observance of Independence Day, City offices and most facilities will be closed on Tuesday, July 4, 2017, with the exception of the following:

Note: Residents/Members have exclusive use of the Water Park from 11 a.m. to noon on weekends & holidays.

  • There will be NO fireworks on July 4. Fireworks will be launched at SummerFest at Bohrer Park on SATURDAY, JULY 1.

The collection of recycled materials for residents whose regular recycling day is Tuesday, July 4, 2017, will take place on the PRECEDING Saturday, July 1. This includes newspaper, mixed paper, corrugated cardboard, and commingled materials, as well as brush, branches, grass clippings, leaves and other yard trimmings, picked up by the City’s recycling contractor. Bulk pick up items will be collected the following Tuesday, July 11, 2017 for those whose bulk pick up day falls on July 4.

Regular trash and garbage collection for City residents is handled by private contractors. Please contact your HOA or your private contractor regarding the holiday collection schedule for these materials.
