Winter Weather Decision From Gaithersburg Officials
Due to inclement weather, the City of Gaithersburg has made changes to its community services and transportation schedules on Nov. 15.

GAITHERSBURG, MD — Thursday's wintry weather has prompted city officials to modify its community services and transportation schedules. Here's a list of the changes, according to the City of Gaithersburg's website:
- Benjamin Gaither Center (BGC), Community Museum and Youth Centers, and Gaithersburg Aquatic Center are closed.
- Classes are canceled, with the exception of evening classes at the BGC (a decision will be made by 2:30 p.m.)
- Activity Center at Bohrer Park will open at 8 a.m. (pending weather conditions; the director will advise).
- Casey Community Center will open at 9 a.m. There will be no Tot Time.
- All activities at school sites are canceled.
- City-sponsored morning and afternoon classes before 2:30 p.m. at city facilities are canceled.
- A decision will be made about the status of evening programs and classes at 2:30 p.m.
In addition to these changes, Schools in Montgomery County will be closed on Thursday, Nov. 15. Click here for more information.
Parts of Montgomery County are under a winter weather advisory. The advisory will be in effect Thursday, Nov. 15 from 4 a.m. to 1 p.m. The National Weather Service calls for up to an inch of sleet and snow, and up to a tenth of an inch of ice.

Portions of the county will also be under a flood watch. The watch will be in effect from 12 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 15 until 12 a.m. on Friday, Nov. 16.
