20K Power Outages Reported In Montgomery County: Isaias
An estimated 20,036 power outages have been reported in Montgomery County within the last 24 hours, according to MEMA.

GERMANTOWN, MD — Montgomery County has activated its emergency operations center as Tropical Storm Isaias blasts the Mid-Atlantic, prompting multiple weather alerts around the region.
Several road closures were reported, and power was knocked out for thousands of county residents.
An estimated 20,036 power outages have been reported in the county within the last 24 hours, according to the Maryland Emergency Management Agency (MEMA). More than 103,000 power outages were recorded statewide.

Isaias — which weakened to a tropical storm Tuesday morning as it passed over eastern North Carolina — is now making its way past Maryland, and will be moving up the Northeast later this evening.

As of 2 p.m., Isaias was moving north-northeast at 40 mph near the Pennsylvania-New Jersey border, according to the National Hurricane Center (NHC), and packing 65 mph winds.
