BlackRock Announces Call for Artists for “Quotable Quarantine"

Virtual art exhibit open to students in grades K-12

GERMANTOWN, Md. (April 13, 2020) – BlackRock Center for the Arts announces a call for student artists in grades K-12 for its first virtual art exhibit, “Quotable Quarantine.” Original artwork should be accompanied by a quote that captures the artist’s quarantine experience. Works of art can feature personal feelings, sensory images, visualization, or perceptions of this time in the artist’s life.

The top three works in four age groups (K-2, 3-5, 6-8, 9-12) will be selected through a public voting poll. Awards in each age group will be granted by the Art League of Germantown and by BlackRock’s leadership team. The prize-winning works of art will be featured on BlackRock’s website, shared on social media, and displayed in BlackRock’s Gallery II when the center re-opens.

The deadline to submit entries is April 19, 2020. For more details and to submit an entry, visit www.blackrockcenter.org/virtual-student-art-exhibit.
