County Hosts COVID-19 Economic Recovery Town Hall: March 19

Montgomery County will host a virtual "COVID-19 Economic Revitalization and Recovery Town Hall" later this week. Here's how to watch.

GERMANTOWN, MD — Montgomery County will be hosting a virtual "COVID-19 Economic Revitalization and Recovery Town Hall" later this week.

The event will take place Friday at noon and will feature Anthony Featherstone, the new executive director of WorkSource Montgomery. According to its website, WorkSource Montgomery "focuses on linking local and regional economic development and workforce efforts" in the county.

Featherstone — along with Jerome Fletcher, the county's assistant chief administrative officer for economic development — will discuss getting the unemployment rate back to where it was before COVID-19. Other topics they will cover include the public workforce system, special initiatives during the pandemic, and services for job seekers and businesses.

Business owners, employees, and residents who have questions they want to be addressed at the town hall should email them to BizPortal@MontgomeryCountyMD.gov by Wednesday.
