'Discover Montgomery' Is 7-Week Challenge For Outdoor Enthusiasts
Montgomery Parks has launched a seven-week virtual hiking, biking, and running challenge called "Discover Montgomery."
GERMANTOWN, MD — There's a new way for Montgomery County residents to enjoy the great outdoors while social distancing.
Montgomery Parks and The Mid-Atlantic Off-Road Enthusiasts (MORE) have launched a seven-week virtual hiking, biking, and running challenge called "Discover Montgomery."
The challenge features seven natural surface trails in the county — each one with short (beginner), medium (intermediate), and long (advanced) options.

"The Montgomery Parks system contains 200 miles of natural surface trail across the entire county," said Darren Flusche, Trails Master Planner and Trails Program Supervisor for Montgomery Parks. "We hope 'Discover Montgomery' will encourage people to get outdoors and maybe discover a new trail on foot or bike."
