Free Tax Aid Being Offered To Eligible Montgomery Co. Residents
Montgomery County officials are offering free tax preparation services to eligible residents.
GERMANTOWN, MD — Montgomery County residents earning $57,000 or less a year can receive free tax preparation services through the Community Action Agency's Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program, according to government officials.
The IRS-sponsored program, which has moved online due to COVID-19, lets residents securely upload their tax documents have their taxes prepared for free by a certified tax preparer, officials said.
The virtual service is available through April 15. Click here to schedule an appointment. Then select the green "Book Now" button and find an open timeslot. Customers with appointments will receive a phone call from VITA with information on how to prepare for the appointment.
