Weather.com has the area reaching the low 70s Tuesday and the high 70s on Wednesday, but the Washington Post's Capital Weather Gang predicts the area will hit a high of 76 Tuesday followed by 80 on Wednesday.

"A super-massive dome of high pressure bursts into our region today and tomorrow," CWG says. "It's going to feel more like May than February. Record high temperatures are likely, and sunshine is expected today and perhaps tomorrow too."

After that, things cool down a bit and rain enters the forecast, with Thursday expected to be cloudy with scattered showers and temperatures in the 50s and 40s.

Temperatures should stay warm for the foreseeable future, although it's still February so the break from the cold is never forever.

For at least the next couple days, however, you can safely go outside without a coat.
