Late Parking Ticket Fees Return On Aug. 1 In Montgomery County

Fees for late parking tickets were suspended in March 2020 because of the pandemic, but will return on Aug. 1. Pay yours before then.

MONTGOMERY COUNTY, MD — If you've gotten a Montgomery County parking ticket in the past year and haven't paid it yet, be sure to do so before Aug. 1. That's when late fees for parking tickets will rev up again.

The fees were suspended in March 2o2o because of the coronavirus pandemic, but if you don't pay by Aug. 1, you could face a fine of $25 for the first late phase.

The Montgomery County Department of Transportation will notify anyone who has an unpaid parking ticket from Jan. 1, 2020, to June 30, 2021, to let them know their balance. You can also look up parking tickets by license plate online.

You can pay parking parking tickets online or call 240-453-0113. You can also visit two parking sales stores to pay parking tickets, purchase parking passes and other parking permits. The two sales stores are in Bethesda (Cheltenham Garage, No. 42) and Silver Spring (Town Square Garage, No. 61), and are open from 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday, beginning June 15.
