Germantown Homicide Investigation: Man Found Dead In Apartment

A man found dead inside a Germantown apartment Monday has prompted a homicide investigation.

GERMANTOWN, MD — Authorities say they have opened a homicide investigation after a 38-year-old man's body was found inside a Germantown apartment Monday.

Montgomery County police said they received a call around 4:54 p.m. about a man who was not breathing inside the home in the 20000 block of Frederick Rd.

When officers arrived, they found a man "suffering from trauma to his upper body," according to a press release. Investigators later identified the resident as Russell Troy Huffman.

His body was taken to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner (OCME) in Baltimore for an autopsy. The results of the autopsy are pending, according to authorities.

Anonymous tipsters can reach out to the county's Crime Solvers at 1-866-411-TIPS (8477), or submit a tip online or via the P3 Tips app. Crime Solvers is offering a cash reward of up to $10,000 for information that leads to an arrest.
