Montgomery County’s Newest Council Members Applaud CCACC
CCACC Meeting with Friedson and Jawando

Meet Montgomery County’s newest council members: Andrew Friedson and Will Jawando. The Chinese Culture and Community Service Center (CCACC) had the honor of meeting and interviewing them on August 28. As the two youngest council members, they showed appreciation for the work that CCACC has done and praised the center’s contributions to the community.
While looking at CCACC’s Adult Day Healthcare Center (ADHC), the two council members were able to have a simple conversation with some of ADHC’s seniors. Friedson and Jawando thanked them for their support of America and Montgomery County, overcoming language barriers with the help of CCACC’s executive director, Mr. Chih Hsiang Li.
Next, they visited CCACC’s Pan Asian Volunteer Health Clinic (PAVHC), applauding PAVHC’s many services, and thanking PAVHC’s many volunteers and doctors. Visiting CCACC’s Home Care gave the council members insight on the myriad of services CCACC provides to the diverse community. They came to believe that CCACC’s ability to provide healthcare services that target different populations should serve as a role model to other non-profits.

Executive Director Li shared CCACC’s history and vision with the two council members, introducing them to CCACC’s different services and departments – healthcare, education, recreation & culture, adult day care, home care, and the art gallery. Friedson and Jawando also got to participate in a longtime CCACC tradition–Break the Eggrolls–where they got to enjoy Asian delicacies. They discussed services that could benefit the Asian community, and showed interest in healthcare and traffic regulation. Both Friedson and Jawando are looking forward to working with CCACC in the future.
