Montgomery County Police are investigating after a woman was found dead inside a house that was on fire in Germantown.
GERMANTOWN, MD – Montgomery County Police are investigating after a woman was found dead inside a house that was on fire in Germantown.
A call reporting a fire at a home in the 12000 block of Birdseye Terrace came in just before 3:30 a.m. Thursday, according to officials.
The fire was located in the second floor of the home near a mattress and a wall, officials said. According to officials, there were no working smoke alarms in the home.

Fire crews discovered an unresponsive woman in the home.
The fire caused an estimated $60,000 in damage.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
