Public Education Budget Forums To Be Held By County Leaders

Montgomery County government and school officials will host five public education budget hearings starting on Wednesday, Feb. 20.

GERMANTOWN, MD — Montgomery County government and school officials will hold the first of five public education budget forums Wednesday evening.

The countywide tour will be hosted by councilmember Craig Rice, MCPS Superintendent Jack Smith, and Montgomery College President DeRionne Pollard. At the forums, will residents have the opportunity to give feedback on the public school system and the county's community college.

"These forums will provide an opportunity for residents to have their questions answered about the education budgets at both the State and County level from kindergarten to higher education," said Rice, who is also chair of the Council's Education and Culture Committee. "We will discuss opportunities all residents have to help influence and shape budget decisions that will be made as the Council works to adopt the FY20 budget."

  • Feb. 20: Neelsville Middle School
    • 6:30 p.m. at 11700 Neelsville Church Rd. in Germantown
  • Feb. 27: Col. E. Brooke Lee Middle School
    • 6:30 p.m. 11800 Monticello Ave. in Silver Spring
  • March 6: Rockville High School
    • 6:30 p.m. at 2100 Baltimore Rd. in Rockville
  • March 11: Bethesda-Chevy Chase High School
    • 6:30 p.m. at 4301 East-West Highway in Bethesda
  • March 27: Montgomery College
    • 6:30 p.m. at 7600 Takoma Ave. in Takoma Park (Cultural Arts Center Theater 1)
