Severe Storm Downs Trees, Power Lines In Montgomery County
A severe storm that moved through Montgomery County Friday morning has knocked down trees and power lines.
GERMANTOWN, MD — A burst of heavy rain and strong winds moved through Montgomery County Friday morning, taking down trees and power lines.
No major injuries have been reported, but Montgomery County officials are reminding residents to keep their distance from downed power lines and to report them to 9-1-1.

Officials added that motorists should treat a non-functioning traffic light as a four-way stop sign.

Anne Arundel, Calvert, Charles, Montgomery, Prince George's, and St. Mary's counties are under a wind advisory from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Forecasters are calling for 20 to 30 mph winds with gusts from 50 to 55 mph.
