The National Weather Service issued a Severe Thunderstorm Warning for southern Montgomery County through 8 p.m. Monday:

DOPPLER RADAR INDICATED A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM CAPABLE OF PRODUCING DAMAGING WINDS IN EXCESS OF 60 MPH. THIS STORM WAS LOCATED OVER HERNDON...AND MOVING EAST AT 30 MPH.

The National Weather Service has issued a Hazardous Weather Outlook for northwest, central and southeast Montgomery County on Monday.

The outlook was issued due to the threat of thunderstorms moving through the area, which may bring the possibility of flooding.

SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS ARE POSSIBLE THIS AFTERNOON AND EVENING...PARTICULARLY FOR NORTHERN PORTIONS OF THE OUTLOOK AREA. SEVERE THREATS ARE DAMAGING WIND GUSTS...LARGE HAIL...AND ISOLATED TORNADOES. THUNDERSTORMS MAY ALSO PRODUCE HEAVY RAIN AND LOCALIZED FLOODING TONIGHT.
