Shelly Murray of Weichert Named President-Elect of Maryland Association of Realtors

Weichert, Realtors Regional Vice President Kim Farina has announced that Shelly Murray, manager of Weichert’s Germantown/Upper Montgomery County office, was recently named president-elect of the Maryland Association of REALTORS® (MAR) for the 2016 calendar year, making her the first Weichert president of this professional trade association. Murray will assume the presidency in October 2016.

“We are proud to have a dedicated Weichert professional like Shelly representing our office, our region and our state,” said Farina. “Her commitment to our industry is evident not only in her association with MAR, but also with her steadfast allegiance to all of her sales professionals, clients and the entire Germantown/Upper Montgomery County community.”

Murray began her real estate career 21 years ago as a Weichert, Realtors sales associate, and in 1999 was named manager of the Germantown/Upper Montgomery County office. Since then, Murray has been proudly named Weichert Regional Manager of the Year for five out of the last eight years.

Active in the industry, Murray was the president of the Greater Capital Area Association of REALTORS® in 2010, has served five times as a local National Association of REALTORS® director and has been on numerous MAR committees.

A long-time resident of Montgomery County, Murray spent many years as a volunteer with the Mental Health Association of Montgomery County’s Friendly Visitor program.
