Vaccination Site Now Open At Montgomery College
The site at Montgomery College's Germantown campus is now open. It will be run by Montgomery County before being supported by the state

GERMANTOWN, MD — A COVID-19 mass vaccination site is now open at Montgomery College's Germantown campus.
The site, which will be run by Montgomery County its first week, opened Wednesday.
This is Maryland's seventh mass vaccination site — and the county's first. Unlike the others, the clinic at Montgomery College will not be completely run by the state.

"It will operate a bit differently than the other (mass vaccination sites) across the state, which are truly state-run. This is a case where it will be a partnership between the state, the county, Holy Cross (Hospital), and Montgomery College to build out this site," Dr. Earl Stoddard, the county's director of emergency management, said last month.
While run by the county, officials say the site will have the capacity to administer 1,500 doses a day between Monday and Friday. Doses will come out of the county's allotment until next week.

At that time, the site will be supported by the state and will operate every day, according to county officials.

A day after the site opened, Gov. Larry Hogan announced that all Marylanders age 16 and up can pre-register for the COVID-19 vaccine.
Nearly 300,000 residents have already pre-registered for an appointment, according to the governor.
Pre-registering does not guarantee you will immediately get an appointment. It means you will be notified when you are able to make one. Pre-register by visiting covidvax.maryland.gov or calling 1-855-MD-GOVAX.
