Women Attack Grocery Store Employee In Germantown: Police
Detectives are searching for two women who assaulted a grocery store employee while trying to steal baby formula, police said.

GERMANTOWN, MD — Police are searching for two women who assaulted a grocery store employee during an attempted robbery in Germantown last week.
The incident took place at Shoppers at 18066 Mateny Rd. at about 9:05 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 11.
Police said the women approached the employee who was behind the counter. They allegedly demanded baby formula, which was kept in a locked case, a police statement said.

"The two suspects assaulted the employee and then fled from the grocery store without obtaining any property," police said.
Fire and Rescue personnel responded and transported the employee to a local hospital for treatment of her non-life-threatening injuries.

Detectives are asking anyone with information about this attempted robbery or the suspects to call the Major Crimes Division at 240-773- 5070. Crime Solvers will pay a cash reward of up to $10,000 for information provided to them that leads to an arrest and/or an indictment for this crime.
